Day 6: Fun Summer Plans

We always do fun things as a family in the summer, but this year we decided to put some Disney magic into the plans.  The kids have been talking about the princesses and Jake and It's a Small World for years, and we have always told them they would go when they are older.  Dreams can true a little earlier than they expected.

We were there for the 60th Anniversary celebration, so everything was decked out in blue and with diamonds.  The parades and fireworks were new, and they were amazing.  I, of course, have no idea what they are usually like, but these sure were magical.

The ride that seemed to anchor our trip was It's A Small World.  We rode it ten times.  I figured out that that is just about 2 hours of time sailing around the world.  My son then sang the song on the plane home, just to make sure everyone knew where we had been.  They were singing it at Target last night, too.  We got a few looks.

We had to make a stop at the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach.  We love sea creatures in our house, and this aquarium does not disappoint.  Their seal and sea lion show was fantastic.

Of course, we also had to make a stop to see the Pacific.   We didn't actually go swimming, but our trip to Seal Beach involved walking into the ocean and playing in the sand at sunset.  The coast is just beautiful.

Now we just need to go back soon!  I guess I need to start saving my pennies, and lots of them.  :)
